In the late 80s is when Matt Clover’s DJ career first started. A 13 year old working on primitive belt driven turntables and a Realistic mixer from Tandy. Cutting his teeth in the unforgiving world of mobile discos, initially for birthday parties and weddings, quickly moving on to residencies with hotels and then high profile summer balls in sergeants messes accompanied by comedians and several acts regularly seen on prime time TV.
Although one of the best ways to understand how to engage, move and take a crowd on a journey, his real goal was to perform to larger audiences. This dream became a reality in the rave days performing at several legal and some not so legal raves performing along artists such as Baby D at the Safe House, Stevenage. Recognised and approached by the owner of Beeches nightclub he went on to be headline resident there for nearly two years performing to capacity crowds of 800 people every Friday and Saturday night.
Performed in many nightclubs from the Epping Country Club to the Hermitage Matt kept his hand in over the years although the music took a back seat to raising a family and pursuing sporting endeavours. Music never left him though as he also turned his hand to production as time permitted.
In 2015 Matt and Marc Dicks’ paths crossed and Matt joined the world famous Platinum Radio London. Since then , Matt has joined the management team and continues to present his weekly moving house show every Tuesday 8pm – 10pm where you will hear the very best in underground house music across the genres and decades.
